RUN ROSE RUN !!!

A journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step

To say I was inspired today by Rose McCarty is an understatement. As a friend and I peddled bikes around Denver and visited Washington Park, my friend spied a pop-tent with a banner that read "Run Rose Run." We stopped to ask the young man (Michael) what the cause was, and why he was there. And then, an AMAZING story unfolded.

Michael explained that he was supporting a lady, Rose, who was in the process of running 1,000 miles in two months. He explained that Rose was currently looping Washington Park to log her miles for the day. Rose hails from San Antonio, Texas and is on a multi-city tour (https://runroserun.com):

Rose is a 30-something year old Marketing Executive who decided this was her time to "do something." Her something was about bringing something positive into the world, in a time when anxiety and uncertainty are grabbing more headlines than they should. Rose is an athlete. She has ran for many years and is an IronWoman Triathlete. And as I ran a lap with her she grinned and her voice changed when she said "I discovered endurance", and this appears to now by Rose's passion.

Rose decided to "run"; but, it was not an ordinary run. Rose decided she was going to challenge herself to run long - really long - a journey of 1,000 miles to be exact. And, she decided that her run needed to be about helping other people. Rose chose two charities that support at-risk youth (https://www.covenanthouse.org & https://www.goodsports.org). She chose this cause because it is personal to Rose. Rose explained that this time is very difficult for "kids on the street. Many of them will go days without eating. Their sports programs and activities have been negatively impacted by the virus." You could feel Rose's passion for and connection to the causes in her voice as she continued to speak.

Then, Rose shared a little bit of her story. Rose is a survivor of abuse and left her home at 16 because of it. She ended up going to college, got married, is a business executive and is fit and fabulous. Rose inspired the socks off me - not because she is running 1,000 miles, or because she is helping kids. Those are inspiring for sure.

Rose's real beauty is in her authenticity and vulnerability. Rose is a heroine. Her journey is all of our journeys. She is an example for all of us - we can go through some pretty crappy things in life, and emerge a beautiful and wonderful person. As we talked, Rose shared #BIGWISDOM when she said, "I've accepted my life as good because it has made me the person I am today."

Rose McCarty is an AMAZING lady. We need more Roses in this world.

Rose will be running at Washington Park in Denver, CO Thursday and Friday - July 23 & 24, 2020 - beginning at about 8 am. She will put in about 25 miles each day. She holds a strong pace, so if you want to share some miles with this amazing woman, get your running shoes on.

Please join me in supporting Rose to make a difference for kids who are hurting, abused, struggling and in-need of help. Please DONATE HERE and meet me at Washington Park to run some miles with Rose.

  2. The need to provide the best content for readers in a market crowded by false hype and misleading stories is something that publishers should be concerned about. The industry is going through a tough time at the moment and to have a net worth and profiles chance at success you have to do things more properly. The first of those is good quality content that will attract and engage your visitors
